The Yugoslavian Zastava made M56 sub-machine gun is a clone of Nazi Germany’s famous MP40 Schmeisser. The main differences are that the M56 SMG is a bit longer and uses a curved magazine unlike the straight German one. The increased length made the Yugo M56 shot further. Another main difference is that the M56 is 7.62×25 Tokarev caliber as opposed to the MP40 9×19, providing more penetration.
