The Uzi sub-machine gun was created by Major Uziel “Uzi” Gal. The mechanics were similar to the Czech VZ 24/26 sub-machine guns in terms of its operation as a open-bolt, blowback-operated design. The open bolt operation exposes the breech end of the barrel, and improves cooling during continuous rapid fire that the Uzi is famous for. Since its introduction to the Israeli military in 1954 and its export to over 90 countries, it is estimated that about 10 million Uzis were manufactured up to the 1980’s, mostly in the original wood stock and folding stock models. Today there are of course modern models for the Uzi sub-machine gun such as the Uzi Pro and Uzi pistol. The original Uzis are sold mostly to collectors or do it yourself armorers as Uzi parts kits, especially in the US civilian market.
Uzi Sub-Machine Gun Folding Stock Model
The iconic Israeli Uzi sub-machine gun with folding stock is now for sale either as a complete firearm or for Uzi parts kits. These Israeli military surplus Uzi folding stock SMGs are sold only as complete weapons and are probably the last large inventory of IMI Uzi folding stock model sub-machine guns to be sold since all Uzis (and Galils) are sold out from Israeli military surplus depots.
If you are a US based importer, these Uzis need to be imported as-is into a Free Trade Zone and cut there into ATF compliant Uzi parts kits, that is a torch cut receiver and barrel with the proper displacement of material. We are probably one of the only sources available for exporting Uzi folding stocks since all Israeli military surplus Uzis are no more.
