The objective of the Israel Homefront Command is to save lives, minimize the damage to lives and infrastructure, and provide assistance in conjunction with emergency organizations, local authorities, government ministries, and public bodies on the civil front in maintaining the State of Israel’s endurance and essential services, as well as supporting the offensive effort. This is all to enable routine during emergencies, which will contribute to achieving victory in this campaign. The Search & Rescue unit of the Israel Homefront Command has also been involved in numerous missions around the world savings lives after disastrous earthquakes from Turkey to Albania to Mexico and Haiti, aiding in the aftermath of the Tsunami in Japan, building collapse in Surfside, Florida and many many other instances throughout the world.
They are known wherever they come to aid as the “angels in yellow helmets”.
